An imitation vanilla extract used in baking.
USAGE
Vanilla Sugar Cookies
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. McCormick® Cream of Tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. McCormick® Premium Imitation Vanilla Extract
2 1/3 cups flour
Additional sugar for rolling
BEAT butter in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar, Cream of Tartar, baking soda and salt; beat until well blended. Beat in eggs and Extract. Beat in as much flour as possible with mixer.
STIR in any remaining flour. Cover. Refrigerate 2 hour or until dough is firm. Shape into 1-inch balls. Roll in additional sugar. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE in preheated 375°F oven 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheets. Cool completely on wire racks.
Makes 54 cookies.
USAGE
Sugar Cookie Icing: Mix 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 3 teaspoons milk and 1/4 teaspoon extract until smooth. Stir in 2 teaspoons light corn syrup until glossy.
