An imitation cherry flavored extract used in baking. This product will be discontinued on January 2, 2012.
USAGE
Triple Chocolate Cherry Cake
1 pkg. (18 1/4 oz.) devil's food cake mix
1 pkg. (3 1/2 oz.) instant chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp. McCormick® Imitation Cherry Extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chocolate Cherry Glaze (see recipe below)
BEAT all ingredients, except chips and Glaze, in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed just to moisten. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
STIR in chips. Pour into greased and floured 10-cup Bundt pan.
BAKE in preheated 350°F oven 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Invert cake onto wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare Glaze. Spoon over cake.
Makes 16 servings.
USAGE
Chocolate Cherry Glaze: Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup milk and 3 tablespoons butter in small saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring to boil on medium heat and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon Extract until chips are melted.
