Add smoky flavor to salsa by first grilling the tomatoes and onions.
1 1/2 pounds vine-ripened tomatoes, cut into thick slices
1 medium onion, cut into thick slices
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon Lawry's® Garlic Salt with Parsley
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Chipotle Chili Pepper
Brush tomato and onion slices with oil.
Broil or grill over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes per side or until tomatoes and onions are browned.
Chop tomatoes and onions. Place in medium bowl. Add cilantro, lime juice, garlic salt and chipotle chili pepper; toss well. Let stand at room temperature 15 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled meat, chicken or fish.
