Serve this sweet, spiced fruit sauce with holiday turkey, chicken or roast pork. Or, top desserts such as pound cake, angel food cake or ice cream.
1 cup pomegranate juice
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Cinnamon, Ground Saigon
1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Allspice, Ground Jamaican
1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
2 pears, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup dried figs, quartered
1 cup dried cranberries
Bring pomegranate juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla and orange peel to simmer in medium saucepan, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
Stir in pears, figs and cranberries. Cook 5 to 10 minutes or until cranberries are plump and liquid is slightly thickened. Cover.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
