Herb flecked mashed potatoes are equally perfect at holiday time and an everyday meal.
2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
2 teaspoons salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Garlic Powder, California
1/8 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ White Pepper, Ground
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 teaspoons McCormick Gourmet™ Chives
1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Parsley, Flat Leaf
Place potatoes in medium saucepan. Cover with water and add 1 teaspoon of the salt. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender. Drain and return potatoes to saucepan.
Sprinkle potatoes with remaining 1 teaspoon salt, garlic powder and pepper. Mash with potato masher, gradually adding half-and-half then butter. Stir in chives and parsley.
