Six-Spice Maple Cornish Hens will give everyone another reason to enjoy backyard grilling. Maple syrup adds a sweet touch to Cornish hens and cayenne and black peppers add bite to the warmer flavors of cumin, ginger and thyme.

  • Mix spices in small bowl. Set aside.

  • Split each hen in half. Brush with oil. Rub with spice mixture; coat well.

  • Broil or grill over medium heat 12 to 14 minutes per side or until hens are cooked through. Brush with maple syrup; broil or grill 3 minutes longer. Sprinkle with green onion before serving.
