The flavor of anise elevates grilled shrimp and scallops to a new level. Served with an Asian-inspired dipping sauce, this easy dish is perfect for dinner any evening.
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon McCormick Gourmet™ Anise Seed
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Garlic Powder, California
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Ginger, Ground
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Sicilian Sea Salt
1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Black Pepper, Coarse Ground
1 pound large sea scallops
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons sliced green onion
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Ginger, Ground
Mix orange juice, oil, anise seed, garlic powder, ginger, sea salt and pepper in small bowl. Place seafood in large resealable plastic bag or glass dish. Add marinade; turn to coat well.
Refrigerate 30 minutes. Meanwhile, for the Honey Ginger Dipping Sauce, mix all ingredients in medium bowl until well blended. Set aside. Remove seafood from marinade. Discard any remaining marinade. Alternately thread shrimp and scallops onto skewers.
Grill over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes or until shrimp turn pink and scallops are opaque. Serve with Honey Ginger Dipping Sauce.
• If using wooden skewers, soak in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
