A warm hint of allspice is the special secret ingredient in this dessert that’s perfect for fall or holiday celebrations.
1/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Cinnamon, Ground Saigon
1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Allspice, Ground Jamaican
6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and coarsely chopped
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
Preheat oven to 350°F. For the Filling, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and allspice in large bowl. Add apples, cranberries, walnuts and raisins; toss to coat well. Spread mixture evenly in bottom of buttered 13x9-inch baking dish. Set aside.
For the Topping, mix flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl. Add butter, milk, egg and vanilla; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Spoon batter evenly over fruit mixture.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until topping is brown and a toothpick inserted in center of topping comes out clean. Serve warm.
