Mulled wine sweetened with blackberry liqueur makes a festive holiday beverage.
1 bottle (750 milliliters) dry red wine
2 McCormick Gourmet™ Cinnamon Sticks
1 piece McCormick Gourmet™ Vanilla Beans, Madagascar , split in half lengthwise and seeds scraped
1/2 cup blackberry liqueur
McCormick Gourmet™ Nutmeg, Whole , grated
Place all ingredients except nutmeg in large saucepan. Bring to simmer on medium heat.
Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes. Serve warm with freshly grated nutmeg.
Use red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz (Syrah), Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc or Zinfandel.
