• Red tea or rooibos tea comes from the South African red bush. It is reddish in color and is naturally sweet and slightly nutty. It is high in antioxidants and is caffeine-free. It is available in some supermarkets, tea stores and online specialty stores.
Simple Syrup: Place 1 cup each sugar and water in small saucepan on medium heat. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Sweeten tea with 2 tablespoons Simple Syrup per 1 cup tea. For Southern-style sweet tea, increase Simple Syrup to 1/4 cup.
