Cooking tip

· Red tea or rooibos tea comes from the South African red bush. It is reddish in color and is naturally sweet, slightly nutty, and caffeine-free. It is available in some supermarkets, tea stores and online specialty stores.

Simple Syrup: Place 1 cup each sugar and water in small saucepan on medium heat. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 3 minutes, stirring to dissolve sugar. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Sweeten tea with 2 tablespoons Simple Syrup per 1 cup tea. For Southern-style sweet tea, increase Simple Syrup to 1/4 cup.
