This fruit and cheese combination is so delicious yet only takes a few minutes to assemble. Serve as an appetizer or a dessert.
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/4 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Cinnamon, Ground Saigon
1/8 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Cardamom, Ground
1/8 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet™ Nutmeg, Ground
8 large fresh figs
3 ounces goat cheese, chèvre
Preheat oven to 350°F. Microwave honey in small microwavable bowl on HIGH 30 seconds or until warmed. Stir in lemon peel, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg. Set aside.
Cut a small slice off bottom of each fig so that it stands upright. Quarter each fig, cutting just halfway down the fig. Press a small chunk of cheese into center of each fig. Place on small foil-lined baking pan.
Bake 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Place a fig on each serving plate. Drizzle with spiced honey and serve immediately.
Variation: Prepare as directed, using blue cheese in place of the goat cheese.
