Apples are one of our favorite fruits to use in cooking and baking because they are extremely versatile and their flavors range from sweet to tart. For this menu, we highlighted this delicious fruit as our centerpiece in three very different and distinct dishes.
In the salad, tart apple slices are tossed with salad greens, apricots, blue cheese, pistachios and a sweet honey vinaigrette with a hint of cinnamon. Meanwhile in our main course, apple is used as a natural sweetener for our juicy, slow-simmered beef stew. And for dessert, we present the richer side of the apple in a skillet tart that features a flaky puff pastry crust and sautéed apple slices drizzled with a scrumptious brown butter caramel.
