I grew up in the South. Our comfort food here is pinto beans and cornbread!

Im from West Virginia.  Our favorite comfort dish is navy or great northern beans (soupbeans), ham and cornbread.   I personally like to use cranberry beans.

My parents were hardy New Englanders and they never heard of soupbeans, just Boston baked beans EVERY Saturday night.  I would go next door and have a bowl  of soupbeans frequently.   catladywv

Amen to that!! But I married a Yankee from NJ so I take out my beans and add some kind of meat for him. LOL He's not a fan of cornbread or meatless meals.
